How To Get Rid of Parasites, Part 3: Immunity

Welcome to part 3 of my series on how to get rid of parasites.

Next on my list for doing a parasite + candida + bacteria cleanse is step 3 – taking actions that increase your natural immunity.

Let’s get started.

Our Body’s Natural Immunity

Our body has many natural ways to fight parasites including:

  1. Mast cells
  2. White blood cells (Basophils, Eosinophils)
  3. Monocytes
  4. intestinal sIgA/REG1

The human body has cells that can produce IgE which act as toxins for parasitic worms. It also has other immune responses for dealing with smaller, single-celled parasites via monocytes and sIgA/REG1.

So by supporting our body’s immune system, we can increase our body’s ability to resist and defeat parasites.

So what can we do to strengthen our immune system?

1. Good Sleep for Stronger Immunity

If you’re serious about defeating any gut invaders like parasites, bacteria, or yeast, prioritizing sleep is key.

Here are a few things the CDC says about sleep:

“…a modest amount of sleep loss (restricting the time allowed for sleep to 4 hours for one night) reduced natural killer (NK) cell activity to an average of 72% compared with NK cell activity in participants who had a full night’s sleep…”

So just one night of poor sleep is going to decrease our immunity.

Here’s the full CDC diagram – messing with our sleep has many effects beyond just increasing infection:

2. Good Food for Stronger Immunity

There is an immense amount of research showing that what we eat affects our immune system.

After all, you are what you eat…and if you’re eating organic non-starchy veggies and grass-fed beef…you’re going to have more potential nutrition than someone eating cheap and convenient fast food.

An immune-supporting dish I eat many times a week is a simple bone broth + veggies soup.

I take a variety of cruciferous vegetables (cabbage, kale, cauliflower, broccoli, etc.), add in some carrots, onions, ginger, or garlic, and then cook it in some bone broth. I also add in some fat like butter, coconut oil, or tallow. And then salt to taste.

Then I’ll put in some leftover chicken, lamb, or beef in the soup to make it a complete meal. Or I may have 4 eggs on the side with some bacon.

I regularly eat this meal if I even feel a dip in energy, or if I am going to have a busy day…it fortifies me for the challenges of a day, and boosts my immune system, making me more resistant to parasites!

Get Your Body Ready for the Cleanse

Sleep and nutritious food are great steps to take to increase our immunity and be fully ready for a cleanse.

Depending on the person, they may need 10 days of good sleep and food before starting a cleanse…or they may need months…it all depends on where we start.

But we want to go into a cleanse feeling strong, because fighting my bugs took me down a few notches, and preparation can make a cleanse go more smoothly, with a higher chance of success.

Next, we’re going to talk about step 4 of doing a cleanse – starving the bugs.

Stay buckled in, as this phase is where things get even more challenging…but potentially more rewarding.
